Mulholland Walkabout Gait Trainer

Mulholland Walkabout Gait Trainer is suitable for children from about 2 to 5 years old with limited lower extremity strength and mobility. It will adjust down to a height of 7.5 inches and can be used for children as light as 20 pounds. With the capacity to tilt, the posterior pads and the anterior support provided by the swing-away thoracic support are a significant help in getting young children to take their first steps. The Walkabout moves easily on most surfaces and is easy to transport.

It is a posterior support, weight-relieving gait trainer, which gives dynamic support throughout the rise and fall of the pelvis during ambulation. As the child steps forward, the active spring system allows the pelvis to drop down into the “heel strike” and “toe off” portion of gait, and then assists with elevation to allow for proper “swing-through.” Other features include it being hands-free and it is open in the front. The user is able to use their hands to interact with their environment, as well as having minimal barriers between themselves and their world.
